COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

 
Community development, empowerment and training services: The goal of FRS is to prevent similar situations of occurring and thus a community development strategy was developed involving the following:


  • FOSTER-PARENT TRAINING

The training of the Foster mothers is of utmost importance. This entails an

intense training programme for the foster-mothers and mothers in the

community.


  • FAMILY PRESERVATION, INCLUDING THE ISOLABANTWANA, ASIBAVIKELE AND HIV/AIDS HOMEBASED CARE PROGRAMMES.

 

Isolabantwana (Eye on the Child): Women as “eyes” in the community to identify the child in need (Isolabantwana), as well as vulnerable women and other

needy people in the community;


Asibavikele: and in the second place women who act as home based caregivers assisting people living with HIV/AIDS and caring for orphans and vulnerable children. One of the foster mothers has already been trained in home based care. This program will focus on children and women and their specific needs.


  • PARENTING WORKSHOPS


  • Intensive support and mentor services to at-risk families and families challenged by HIV/AIDS, violence, poverty, unemployment etc.
